According to a report from Tencent Entertainment, the TV series Yichang Defense co-produced by Hubei Changjiang Huasheng Television Company Limited and other companies ranked first among national TV series broadcast at the same time slot in the average audience rating during its first premiere in the prime-time slot of CCTV-8. On February 25, it won the Best Audience Choice in the 2016 “City Star” award ceremony of national TV series, which proved its high popularity and quality again.
“City Star” award ceremony of national TV series was jointly hosted by major terrestrial channels to commend the TV series in 2016 with high audience rating and public praise. Yichang Defense once ranked first among national TV series broadcast at the same time slot in the average audience rating when it was broadcast on channels including Nanjing News Composite and Sichuan Television Art in summer of 2016. Then Yichang Defense gained the average audience rating of 1.7% in the national network, ranked first among national TV series broadcast at the same time slot in the average audience rating from beginning to end, and the audience rating of its final episode reached as high as 2.11% after it had been first broadcast on the CCTV satellite TV channels in September, 2016. And it was simultaneously broadcast in January, 2017 on Hubei TV and Chongqing TV as the first TV series of the New Year. Thus it is a quality TV series with high value of replaying. In addition, it won three great awards altogether. Besides the Best Audience Choice Award, its producer Meng Fanyao and chief actress Tong Lei were awarded the title of “The Best Producer in 2016” and “The Best Chief Actress” respectively.
In recent years, under the leadership of the famous producer Meng Fanyao, Hubei Changjiang Huasheng Television Company Limited has produced a series of quality TV series including The Great Eastern Battlefield, The Legend of A Hong’an General, Yichang Defense, The Adoption and The Blood Oath. To date, the TV series produced by Hubei Changjiang Huasheng have successively won over 20 international and domestic honorary awards including the 30th“China TV Drama Flying Apsaras Award”, the 28th“China TV Golden Eagle Award”, the 11th“Top Ten” Award of National TV Production Industry, and the 12th“Golden Angel” Award at the Chinese American Festival.
In 2017, Changjiang Huasheng continued to produce March in River City, known as the first TV drama about Chinese community, which is in the phase of post-production. The TV series Wudang Yijian adapted from Liang Yusheng’s martial arts novel has also started being shot recently with Arxan in Inner Mongolia, Wudang Mountain in Hubei and Shennongjia as its live-action shooting locations.
